FARMHOUSE

Project Designers:

Annie Carruthers Architect and Jack Carruthers

Set within the equestrian heart of Wellington, this modern farmhouse estate blends refined architecture with relaxed Florida living.

The home is composed as a series of clean, gabled volumes, unified by crisp white masonry, black standing-seam metal roofs, and expansive black-framed glazing. The result is a farmhouse silhouette interpreted through a distinctly modern lens—tailored, intentional, and quietly sophisticated.

Inside, the architecture is organized around a central courtyard and pool, creating strong visual connections between interior living spaces and the outdoors. Large sliding glass walls dissolve the boundary between inside and out, framing views of the pool, spa, and layered landscaping beyond. Exposed beams, generous ceiling heights, and natural materials add warmth while maintaining a contemporary clarity.

The outdoor living areas are designed as true extensions of the house: covered terraces, a fireplace lounge, and thoughtfully scaled hardscape give way to lush planting beds and mature trees that provide privacy without feeling enclosed. The pool courtyard becomes the social and visual anchor of the home—calm, elegant, and perfectly suited to Wellington’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

Overall, the residence balances modern restraint with farmhouse familiarity, creating a home that feels both architectural and livable—equally at home in Wellington’s equestrian setting and in a refined, modern design portfolio.
